There’s something for all outdoor enthusiasts incl: Hill walking, Rock Climbing, Mountaineering, Mountain Biking, River & Sea Kayaking, Canoeing, Trail & Ultra Running, Surfing, Paragliding, Base Jumping, Wild Camping, Wild Swimming, Skiing and Snowboarding plus much more... Here’s a few events that will be taking place in 2019.

The Dundee Mountain Film Festival: 28th – 30th November 2019

The Dundee Mountain Film Festival is the UK’s longest continuous running mountain film festival. It showcases an international programme of speakers, as well as award winning films and exhibitions, mainly held in the Bonar Hall, Dundee. We also have a full supporting exhibition of art, photography, trade and voluntary organisation stands and displays.

Fort William Mountain Festival - 20th – 24th February 2019

The Fort William Mountain Festival is a celebration of all things adventurous and outdoors, and what better place to hold the festival than in the Outdoor Capital of the UK itself. By bringing together athletes, speakers, films, photographers and outdoor enthusiasts from a whole variety of backgrounds, the festival aims to encourage others to get out and explore the wilderness around them.

Braemar Mountain Festival – 28th February – 3rd March 2019

The festival is a celebration of the mountains in winter and includes workshops on ski touring and maintenance, winter skills and avalanche awareness, low level walking, navigation and fell running. New for 2019 is the offer of first aid training for the mountain environment and the opportunity to try cross-country skiing.

The evening programme features a double bill from esteemed mountaineers Di Gilbert and Dave MacLeod, as well a ceilidh, “Best of Kendal” film night, music and food.

Daytime talks are an eclectic mix of subjects. Fans of the Cairngorms, in word and photo, from mountain weather forecasting to geology to name just a few, will enjoy the range of speakers and subjects.

Scottish Cycling, Running & Outdoor Pursuits Show: 2nd - 3rd March 2019

The show offers a huge amount of hands-on activities for most outdoor pursuits. The show’s theatre offers range of presentations from expert. This part of the show is usually very informative and well worth taking a look. A broad spectrum of outdoor pursuits that will get the wallet running for cover.

Highland Adventure Fest - 24th March 2019

From biking, hiking, climbing and horse-riding to kayaking, sailing and wild swimming. Adventure-seekers get stuck in! Discover all that the iconic Scottish Highlands have to offer. Try out kit and activities from suppliers, hear from inspiring adventurers, enjoy live music, demonstrations and film, meet new people with similar interest in the great outdoors! It’s the perfect place to meet like-minded people, all sharing the same passion for a little Highland adventure.

Muckle Toon Adventure Festival – 14th - 16th June 2019

The Muckle Toon Adventure Festival came into being, as many great ideas do, over a couple of pints in the local pub. The committee was formed in July 2012 and consists of a small but enthusiastic number of young folk, happy to get out in the hills and plan one of the most exhilarating events in Scotland.

Your base for the weekend is the MTAF Basecamp, found at Langholm Rugby Club with everything from Guest Speakers, Climbing Wall, Live Music, Beer, Camping, Demos, Food, Assault Course and much, much more taking place!

An opportunity to meet like-minded people, discover a fascinating island and have unforgettable days in the safe hands of experienced local leaders. With names to inspire, like Ceum na Caillich and Caisteal Abhail, Arran's mountains are amongst Scotland’s most amazing landscapes.
